About Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC

Established in 1904, BBBS of NYC is the founding agency of the nation's youth mentoring movement. Our vision is that all youth achieve their full potential. Our mission is to build and support mentoring relationships to ignite the biggest possible futures for youth. Our work is guided by our values of believing in the power of mentoring, putting the kids first, and being excellent. 

Currently there are 508,503 children living at or below the poverty level in New York City. 43% of children in New York City are from single-parent families. Every year, BBBS of NYC provides 130,297 hours of mentoring to over 5,000 children from these communities, connecting them with a "Big" who can help them navigate through life's experiences as they strive for successful futures. 

About BIG Night Out

BIG Night Out is the Young Professionals Committee's (YPC) largest annual fundraiser raising over $200,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC. The event is a black-tie Monte Carlo Casino-themed cocktail party that is attended by over 900 young professionals ages 21 to 40 from the New York City metro area. BIG Night Out features top-shelf open bar, gourmet food stations, charity casino games, music provided by a top DJ, a silent auction featuring over 70 packages, raffles, photo booths, a silent disco and much more!

The Young Professionals Committee ("YPC") of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC is a diverse group of dedicated men and women who volunteer their time, talents and energy to generate awareness of and to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC's many mentoring and educational programs. Throughout the year, the YPC has a powerful financial impact through the numerous fundraising events the YPC plans, organizes and executes in a fun and collaborative environment on behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC.
